Hundeakte in veterinary practice
An owner brought you a pre-visit summary from Hundeakte, or showed you a QR code? Here is where the entries come from, what they mean, and how to recommend the app.
What the summary contains
The summary is generated on the owner's device, from their own records. It is owner-reported information, not a finding and not a diagnosis. The owner picks the period and the sections, so a report may well be shorter than the list below.
- Signalment: breed, date of birth, sex, current weight.
- The questions the owner wants to ask at this appointment.
- Wounds and illnesses with measurements, wound area and a PUSH-style score the app derives from the entries.
- Medications with dosage, frequency, period and indication.
- Vaccinations with the date given, the due date and the batch number, as recorded in the pet passport.
- Parasite prophylaxis with product and due date.
- Weight history as a curve, stool log with anomalies, food and intolerances, activity.
Anomalies such as blood or parasites are set in bold and marked with a triangle, so they stand out on a black-and-white printout as well.
Access by QR code
Instead of a printout, the owner can show you a QR code. It opens the summary in a browser, read-only and with an expiry date. The content is stored encrypted on the server, the key travels in the link and never reaches the server. You need no app and no account. This sharing option is part of Hundeakte Pro.
Recommending the app
If you would like owners to keep records between appointments: the free version of Hundeakte is complete and usable on its own, needs no account, works offline and shows no ads. The data stays on the device. There is no questionnaire and no sign-up before the first entry.
- Free: one dog, all walk and health features, the summary as a PDF, first aid, smartwatch and widgets.
- Usable without an account, offline, ad-free and without tracking.
- Reminders for due vaccinations, dewormings and wound checks.
Hundeakte gives no medical advice and makes no diagnoses. It helps owners observe and record; the assessment stays with you.
